  1. Hope someone can provide a second opinion on this; is this a normal sound for a Sony FE 24-70mm f/4.0 ZA OSS Vario-Tessar when focusing? (see audio I added) It seems to be when it has issues focusing or when a subject is further away; but it had these issues also in normal lighting conditions, outside when taking a picture of a person standing in nature (aka; nothing too tricky). To me it sounds like something is off with the AF motor, but shop I bought it from says it's normal. I also have to add that besides very often having this noise during shooting, it also one time totally stopped focusing (image was blurry and it didn't focus, even though the camera made a bleep focusing sound). Had to turn camera off and dismount/mount lens for it to work again. Also told this to the shop. Would love to hear some more opinions. Convert_audio_1691839510707
  2. Hey everyone. I purchased the a6000 a while back and used it for a few. Before I returned it I noticed that some bars on the video feature were under exposed. There were about 3 to 4 bars. I decided to record the video and put it in my lap top just to make sure if it was the cameras screen or something, But as soon as I saw the footage on the computer the bars were in there as well. I returned the camera because I ended up buying the a6500 anyways. Since its a new camera and newer model i forgot about the issue. Later down the road of using the camera I noticed the exact same problem come up on this camera. It is very odd I have done some research and looked for similar situations as mine but so far nothing. Basically I get about 4 horizontal bars that go across the frame of my video that look underexposed. Please take a look at this frame I captured at an event. If you look at the screen shots carefully. You can see the bars are in the exact same position.
  3. Hi everyone! I've had the A6300 now since September, switching from Canon 70D. Something I have really experienced is how slow it is. Starting up takes several seconds and switching from my custom modes or to other modes, like manual to shutter priority seems quite slow. I've noticed it's slower after filming a lot so I guess that has to do with the buffer but it's still surprisingly slow, even when I haven't filmed and switching. Is this just how it is, a bit slower because of all Sony stuffed in it or how are your experiences? Also, sometimes with like focusing or waking up from sleep mode if I haven't used it for more than 10 seconds seem a bit slow too. It's like the "brain" can't keep up. Thanks for all help and advice!
  4. Doesn't matter if it's 4k or not, the camera refuses to do 24fps. It can do 4k 30fps, and 120fps at 100mb/s, but not 4k. Really frustrated with this issue.
  5. After having my camera for a while, it has started to make a louder, almost grinding noise when I take photos. Has anyone else had this issue? Any ideas on wheat it might be? (Dirt, dying, etc)
  6. Forgive me if this has been discussed. I have searched high and low and cannot find it mentioned before. I have the A7RM2 and although used primarily for stills I need to take a time-lapse of a marching band performance that will last about 11min. I am using Playmemories. I "think" my settings are correct. The shoot is at night on a brightly lit football field. I set the Playmemories for 1 second intervals but when I start the shoot it is only shooting at 2 or 3 or even 4 sec intervals. There is a warning symbol for the life of me I cannot find the meaning anywhere!! Over the 1 second interval indicator in the camera screen is an orange exclamation point (!). Can somebody please tell me what I am doing wrong? I am using a SanDisk Extreme Pro SDXC Card (64GB, 95MB/s, U3). I have the settings for the most number of shots (999). What should be a 600-700 shot timelapse video (I am letting the app create the video in camera) turned out to be only a 140 or so shot video that lasts no more than 7 seconds. I even have the camera set to shoot JPEG (fine). Thank you so much for any words you can offer. Steve
  7. Hi everyone I was editing my footage from my A7RII and i have noticed a issue in ALL the shooting. after few seconds of recording suddenly the color of the image change slightly. mostly in reds. EVERYTIME at 1:45 after start to record. Anyone noticed something like this? I attach 4 pictures of une of my shoots one frame before/after the color changes with waveform parade and histogram. link to the video https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/18190870/C0041.mov any ideas?? 8. My Sony a5100 dims significantly only when I’m recording to the point where I can barely see the screen. I never had this issue before and I am just looking for answers to my issue.
  9. I've had my A7ii for about 6 months now and recently am having an issue with the camera auto switching between the eye viewfinder and back screen display. When set to automatically switch between the two the camera will sometimes only display in the eye view finder even when I hold the camera at arms length to look at the back screen. This is a pain because I need to look through the eye viewfinder to change my settings, which is more difficult. I have contacted Sony help through e-mail and they are worthless, I didn't realize that Sony's customer service was so poor. Anyway, any help with this issue would be much appreciated. Thanks, Frank
  10. Hello there! watch video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a4Up6AtNSlM (RAW FOOTAGE: https://we.tl/2dxvAk7i6I) I got the a7s for like 7 months now. And since day 1 I am struggling with noisy footage. After researching about different PP settings, exposures, grading. I still getting noise (also in daylight), even in my mid-tones. So some people advised me to go to the shop. So I went to the shop. And I told them about this problem. He asked which ISO I do shoot. I said between 800 - 1600/3200. And he answered that I have to shoot at 3200 for best quality. (I already did a lot of shots with 3200, but I thought that I give it 1 more try). But still had noisy footage. So I did this simple test with scopes from premiere. And what I see in my scopes is that in my mid-tones and shadows I see dancing pixels.(watch 0:25) You can see moving pixels in the black background, on the LED light controller (in the colored buttons, and the grey part) and also in the green parts of the mini cactus. I use a7s + 55mm 1.8 Zeiss. (+ Sony SDXC card 128gb 94mb/s) You guys are my last hope. I hope I have explained clear enough to understand for you guys. 11. I purchased my A7s II about a month and a half ago from B&H and have had this problem from the beginning: the camera will stop recording on its own almost immediately after hitting the record button. It does this at random (most but not every time I record) and I'm not sure if it is a problem with the settings (doubtful) or if it's a defect in the camera. In the video, I am recording with the XAVC S HD format at 24p 50m. The viewfinder is off and the monitor is set to manual. The memory card I am using is the Sandisk Extreme Pro SDXC UHS-1 64GB 95 MB/S Speed class 30 Card. Also, the A7s II does this with a full battery and a dying battery, so that isn't the issue either. The trouble is, it is too late to exchange/return it with B&H and I have decided not to have it repaired under Sony's warranty after reading the horrendous reviews of Precision Camera Repair, who it seems is known for destroying cameras that they are supposed to repair. This is extremely frustrating and any help would be appreciated. 12. I've tried for 5 hours now to get the webcam working through Imaging Edge Webcam but so far nothing worked. Just yesterday it worked flawlessly, then I used it to shoot some photos outside and then when I wanted to use it as a webcam again, it didn't work. I'm using a normal micro-USB cable connected to my computer with Ctrl w/ Smartphone off and USB Connection to PC Remote. I installed the software and use OBS to stream it to Discord, Microsoft Teams, etc... Every time I do that (as shown in the picture I attached) it just shows me the Imaging Edge Webcam splash text and not the live view. Can anyone help me?
  13. I tried using a dummy battery to power my A7ii for a variety of uses, but whenever I switch from my regular battery to the dummy battery and vice versa, I am prompted to set the date and time. I have 2 regular batteries and switching between them is completely normal. Dummy Battery: it asks for 5V 2A or more. I have tried my USB power bank, and my wall charger. both have the camera fully functioning, but both have it reset date and time. The USB power bank outputs 5V 3A, 9V 2A, or 15V 1.2A. the wall charger outputs 5V 3A or 9V 2A. Anyone have this issue or know what the problem might be? i have tried searching for others who have had this problem but i can only find 1 person in the reviews for this product who have experienced the same thing. would a 5V 2A charger maybe work better than the 5V 3A?
  14. Hi there, My Sony A7iii is only outputting the right channel throw the headphones, however, the audio meter shows levels in both channels and the clips come out in stereo. Any idea on what the problem could be and how to fix it? Thanks, Carlos
  15. Hello there, sony shooters! It is my first post here. I searched a lot but I couldn't find any solution related to my problem. So it goes like this: I have Sony A7s II and I had attached 50mm f/1.8 lens on it. When I was switching my camera to continuous autofocus, it was starting to hunt for a focus, never mind it was night or day, it was at 1.8 or 9, it was hunting for a focus hopelessly. Then I bought Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 and again, it started hunting for a focus. This happens if camera is standby and I press shutter button for focus during photo. But if I switch it on video mode, everything is perfect and everything works very well. Even when I shoot video AF is great, Eye-AF also works perfectly, but when I want to shoot, say, my running dog, every image is out of focus. Did any of you have such an issue? What's a problem? I tried every focus mode but problem continues. Edited: I almost missed that it Tamron and Sony 50mm lens worked perfectly on a73. Thanks for your attention and sorry, if such post existed before. If so, please link me Happy shooting!
  16. Yesterday while I was doing nature photography I had to turn off the camera several times because it was hanging with the curtain up, nothing was visible on the display and in the EVF you could see the last photo shot and the focus points were blinking. The problem was presented with the following configuration Sony A7R III + Metabones V + Canon EF 400mm f / 5.6L USM AF-C Wide focus mode Did any of you have a similar problem?
  17. Hello Community members, I am running into an issue with my RAW files on my A7rII. Here are the details: - Capture One Express (C1) and Lightroom (LR) will read the color incorrectly from my RAW files (it displays a deep blue instead of a purple color) - While the jpg files are read with the correct colors in both C1 and LR (I shoot RAW + JPG). - All settings are on defaut in C1 and LR - It happens with uncompressed raw as well Because I use my camera a lot for our own product shoot, color accuracy is important for us. I also use a grey card to white balance the camera. The problem seems to happen for any product that has some sort of purple/indigo color (it happened with a different dress as well). Because of the purple issue, I am kind of having a harder time to trust my camera, as I am afraid it can do the same for other colors. Can anyone help on identifying if there is something wrong with my setting ? I have uploaded the RAW file, the JPG file from the camera on a Wetransfer link (as they are too big to be attached here), as well as a screenshot that shows the RAW and JPG side by side in Capture One to show the color difference. http://we.tl/qlXkH6D9XG Thanks a lot ! Bertrand
  18. Hi. You are my last resort point. Here is 10-seconds video https://youtu.be/93gD5DzY0hk for demonstrating an issue. Camera can't shot for some reason. There is no Sony service center in my city and the warranty period is over. Therefore, I search for independent solution. If anybody has any ideas, how it can be fixed, please, let me know.
