  5. Recently I've visited the well known (at least in Germany) BMW World. I was there when the blue hour was starting and captured this via 7 images as a panorama. In the middle of post processing I just realized that I had some color bending problem in the sky which took some time to remove. Looking forward to your feedback! 6. I have a new A7SII camera and was taking photos tonight and noticed a very severe problem. I would take multiple photos in succession, and they would all turn out looking different with drastically different color balances; some would be too blue, some too red, all over the spectrum. All of my shooting settings were generally set to manual, and I was shooting mostly on "M" mode, although I briefly switched over to "auto" and it still gave me the issue. Has anyone else experienced this? Below is a link to view a couple example photos so you can see the color shift that I'm talking about. Thanks! Click here for example photos!
  7. Hi, I am wondering if/how the Lightroom camera calibration setting is really important or has significative impact in the post workflow when working on RAWs. my specific body is a A7R2 but that's not really important here. I have always been using the default "Adobe Standard" profile. All my pictures (keepers) are very much worked on in post. My workflow is to adjust all levels to satisfaction, but I have never been paying much attention to the camera calibration setting. Given my workflow, would using a set of "better" profiles, such as http://www.piraccini.net/2011/02/profili-colore-sony-a900-per-adobe-lr.html provide any advantage? I have never expected to have a default JPEG-style rendering on my RAWs and actually assumed that starting from the "most neutral" settings would give me more options as I work on my images. I actually set my camera to Neutral and turned off any highlight/shadow recovery options and adjust levels myself in post. I also absolutely do not care what the image actually look like in the viewfinder/screen, I only use it for focus and exposure - as long as these are good, I will handle the rest in post. Any opinions on this? Thanks, Colin

  10. Having some issues while shooting video with my A7s, which I've only had for about 4 months or so. There are these downward moving color shifts that go from warm to cool that show up in every clip. They are much more noticeable against whites, and a little hidden against blacks but definitely still there. The lenses I'm using are a Sony 28mm f/2 lens, and a Vizelex ND throttle adapter with a Nikkor 50mm f/1.2 and 105 f/1.8. The issue happens with any of these 3 lenses so I'm pretty sure it's not the adapter or Nikkor lenses causing the issue. Video settings are MP4 and 1440x1080 12M. Any insight as to why this might be happening and how it could be fixed are greatly appreciated.
  11. Maybe my ancient eyes are fooling me, but my new 16-35 f2.8 seems to have a slight color shift to the amber side. It could also be the UV protective filter, I suppose. So far, I love everything else about it. Very sharp and not too much distortion. The color is much better outdoors, but inside it is really strong to the amber side. Anyone else notice this?
  12. Greetings, I'm wondering if there's a (free) picture profile available for better skin tones and less green bias in video for the A7Rii? I'm looking for something to cut down the grading time in Premiere. It would be great to just be able to just throw a curve on and get a decent result. I've been using the EOSHD profiles on the FS5, don't know if their profile for the A7Rii also comes with set white balances... Thanks alot! Jogi
  13. Hello together, I have trouble with changing colour phase, ect., when i'm working with a saved Mode like 1, 2, M1-M4 with my Sony a6500. With default modes like P, S, A, Auto, M.. there is no problem, changing settings on the used picture-profile, e.g. PP1, will fully work. But when I'm working with an saved mode, e.g. M1, it seems as if all settings of the picture-profiles, which change color, like color-phase, color depth, are not doing any difference, when changing between picture-profiles. Only contrast, gamma and stuff like this changes. If you than go into the settings of a picture-profile, sometimes the settings are zero, even if they are not zero when working in default photo-modes (M, P, A, S, Auto,...). Maybe it's even the default settings of the picture profile that are shown there. I'm not sure. If you than change the setting, e.g. color phase, numbers will change, but nothing happens. The color is not changing. If you change the photo-mode to e.g. manual the change of the picture-profile-setting is not taken over. Going Back to M1, there a again only the default? settings. Because I'm using picture-profile and saved photo modes very often, this issue accur very often in my daily use. Can anyone reproduce the issue. Any suggestions to solve it. Greetings Jörg
  14. Any suggestions for calibrating a 7" HDMI display for video shooting with A7R3? The camera doesn't generate color bars, right?
  15. Hello Community members, I am running into an issue with my RAW files on my A7rII. Here are the details: - Capture One Express (C1) and Lightroom (LR) will read the color incorrectly from my RAW files (it displays a deep blue instead of a purple color) - While the jpg files are read with the correct colors in both C1 and LR (I shoot RAW + JPG). - All settings are on defaut in C1 and LR - It happens with uncompressed raw as well Because I use my camera a lot for our own product shoot, color accuracy is important for us. I also use a grey card to white balance the camera. The problem seems to happen for any product that has some sort of purple/indigo color (it happened with a different dress as well). Because of the purple issue, I am kind of having a harder time to trust my camera, as I am afraid it can do the same for other colors. Can anyone help on identifying if there is something wrong with my setting ? I have uploaded the RAW file, the JPG file from the camera on a Wetransfer link (as they are too big to be attached here), as well as a screenshot that shows the RAW and JPG side by side in Capture One to show the color difference. http://we.tl/qlXkH6D9XG Thanks a lot ! 16. Has anyone been able to test the A7R II to see if it experiences the same color clipping issues as the A7S and other Sony cameras? I've seen it on both my A7S and my RX100 but It seems to happen more in the blue channel than anywhere else. Someone posted a good example of this phenomenon here: https://vimeo.com/107452261
  17. Have been testing various lenses on the A7RII and comparing RAW files with my old but reliable A850 files under similar conditions. I was surprised how different the WB was with AWB ... I am not talking about particularly "exotic" lighting conditions. For example, shooting some garden scenes under overcast skies the greens from the A850 (on AWB too) were reasonably vivid but the A7RII looked grayish... way way different.... Both RAW files converted in Adobe camera raw on "adobe standard" setting.... This did not seem to be lens specific. Anybody experiencing something similar ? This is my first mirrorless , is it usual to see the AWB react so differently from the old a900/a850 bodies ? Thanks for any help. Feeling quite puzzled so far. c.

  20. Why the name “60 Minutes”? About 1 Month ago. I looked out of the window of my home-office and saw that the Venus brightly glowing above the Moon. So I grabbed my camera and tripod and started taking some images. After some minutes I decided to create a panoramic image to show the whole spectrum. So I positioned all and started shooting. Again after some time I realized that the sky was changing constantly in such rich colors. So I kept on for a about 1 hour. At the end I wanted to merge all the experience into one image. Therefore the name “60 Minutes“. If you want to know more about my worklflow, please visit my blogpost.
