Hi

I've been wondering about this since I've observed it not only with the A7rIII but also with the A6000 before. Sometimes when I turn off the camera, the screen would go black (as expected), but then about 2 seconds later, I hear the shutter sound. Did you experience this as well? Any idea why this happens?

my new A7rIII is doing the same thing and can’t figure it out either?

I don't think it is cleaning or closing the aperture. When you switch of the camera the aperture is immediately closed, it is visible on some if not all lenses. Cleaning the sensor makes a vibrating sound. Moreover, my a7rm3 does it far more than about once a month. Perhaps it has something to do with looking for dead pixels. My previous a72 did the same thing but not as often as my current camera. Perhaps Sony likes to enlighten us as to what or why.

As others have pointed out, it is definitely the shutter sound, not the aperture.

Pixel remapping could be possible, but then why would Sony not write anywhere about this? Also, this happens every other day on my camera, definitely NOT just once a month.

What I also noticed is that this only happens when I am in playback mode and then turn off the camera. Which makes me think it could be a bug.

Anyway, I don't think it's an issue, but still, would be interesting to know what's behind this.
