Advertisement Posted May 20, 2017 Posted May 20, 2017 Hi barham, Take a look here A5000 flash overexposure. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Username
Thaz not much to go on. To hope to solve it form so little info, any respondent would hafta ask zillion detailed questions. Let's try it one question at a time ... The green mode, the PhD mode, should cancel any non-default customizing that you may have done, intentional or accidentally. If you shoot a Very Ordinary scene of very little depth, in the PhD mode, do you still have roughly the same degree of over exposure [as shown in the histogram] ? Tho the above can be answered "yes" or "no", you'd do well to add more info, plus some example images.

Username
What of course, immediately comes to mind, is that you have flash compensation jacked up? Could very well be that. Or not. Thaz why the Green Mode test is Step One .... cuz it cancels ALL that stuff. If Green Mode exposes properly then it's time to chase down accidental settings by the user .... and certainly THE most likely of all errors is the very one you suggest. ------------------------------------------------------- Reason I'm kinda persistent about the Green Mode is that it's available without diving into the menus where some new users might even pile on a coupla more accidental errors. IOW, it's "PhD proof" :-) If there's some exception to my understanding of the "total override" nature of the PhD [Push Here, Dummy] mode, I'm all ears ! My only use of it is for video, cuz my use of video is usually limited to the PhD snapshot level.
