a5000 video length?

Recommended Posts

I have had a look online and found mention of a 29minute video length limit.

that doesn't sound bad to me, I have made a few 20minute videos, the camera appears to still be recording but
when the video is played on a computer the video is only 17 minute long. I have been limiting the video to
15 minutes, which is fine but it woudl be easier sometimes if I could record a bit more.

Any idea what's happening?

It used to be that video was limited to just under 30 minutes because of a regulation in the EU which specified that cameras capable of shooting 30 minutes or more were considered video cameras and taxed at a higher rate.

That's gone now, but I think the A5000 probably dates back to those days.

The only two factors I can think of that might limit it to 17 minutes would be the size of the memory card, or temperature issues - is the camera hot when it stops? Is the memory card full? (it would need to be a small memory card, or one with a lot on it already...)
