  1. Hello All, I'm brand new to the forum and sharing pictures. I got my A6000 about a month ago and have been obsessed with night time long exposure. Here are a couple shots... By the way, what's the best way to share pictures here to retain as much quality as possible? Resize and try to maintain 1mb file size? (I resized and had them about 400-500kb and then the forum compressed to 100-120kb) Check out all my photos at http://www.instragram.com/travelforpictures
  2. Hello All, I'm not quite sure what's going on with my new camera. (Actually 2nd new A6000 since I sent back the first because it had the same issues but worse and in the upper left quadrant of each pic) I get spots in the same exact areas of pictures when the background is a single color, especially the sky. (You can't see the spots in color shots). I thought it could be light spots or something but I exchanged the camera and tried even more pics and still get the issue with various shots into the sun or away from the sun. Do I try to exchange the camera again? Is this user error or an issue with the body? I've circled the spots in red in 2 sample pictures (not the best but show the spots the best). Thank you for your time!
  3. I've been having problems with the clarity/ quality of the pictures that my a6000 produces. The pictures that the camera takes doesn't appear to me to be of high quality, not very clear/ sharp. In fact the pictures often look worse than those taken by my Samsung galaxy S6. To test the camera I initialised it, resetting it back to its factory setting. I then used a tripod and the playmemories control function in the app so act as a remote shutter, to completely eliminate camera shake. I used the auto mode to take some test pics but the quality of the pictures did not impore. The pictures were saved automatically onto my phone in 'original size' via the playmemories app, where I uploaded them to flicker via the flicker app. Please can you take a look at this image and it stats and let me know, all things given, if the imagine should be of better quality for this camera. https://flic.kr/p/R1FbnQ Also I'm using the kit lense.
  4. Just bought both of these with the thought of trying them out as a potential 2nd body/lens combo to augment an A7II + 24-70 2.8 for event shooting (carrying both). Just wondering if the lens only stabilization is any use at all? Events mean moving around fast and not being as stabilized physically as a formal portrait shoot - so there is some concern it's just going to be a bit sloppy. Coming from a history of using Sony's SSS on full frame A Mounts, (which works well) just want to make sure I'm carrying the right camera/lens combo for the job. Or should I ditch the A6000 and get another A7xx with IBIS? Anyone take any zoom photos while in motion (a bit) with the 24-240?
  5. Hello all, I just bought my new A6000 and I've noticed some out of focus shots so I tried to make some tests. Can you please tell me if this is normal behavior or I'm doing something wrong. Test was done with camera on tripod. I've made 3 shots at f2. 1. Manual focus - centering the subject (text) right in the middle of center square (DSC00126_rs) 2. AF-S and Flexible Spot S. I've chosen the center spot (DSC00127_rs) 3. AF-S and Center (DSC00128_rs) As you can see, each time the focus is moving a bit, with greatest shift when using AF-S and Center... Lens used SEL50F18 Thanks for reply.
  6. Hi, I recently encountred this problem whereby when I click the shutter button and when the camera tries to focus in the viewfinder the image shakes and you can hear clicking noises as it tries to focus. The camera I use is a Sony A6000 and the lens is the SEL1670z. It only happen when I manually zoom and when the lens is extended. Its very annoying because as the camera is about to lock in on focus it suddenly shakes and the camera has to try to refocus. I can still take pictures but if video forget about it. Shakes too much when focusing. Anybody else encountered this problem? Please help.
  7. I am trying to apply the newest firmware update to my A6000 but it appears Windows 10 won't follow through on the process. The camera's USB storage is also not recognized by either my desktop or laptop (both win 10). Any suggestions or work arounds that anyone might have to upgrade my firmware? Also, my camera is currently not saving pictures to JPEGs that will open....hence my desire to upgrade the firmware....any additional suggestions? thanks in advance, Miguel A. Jax, FL

  9. Just purchased the A6000 with Sigma 60mm f2.8. Very pleased until I converted the RAW images to DNG with the Adobe converter. Most images are corrupted as in the attached jpg file exported from Lightroom. I can't believe that I'm the only person who has experienced this problem but I can't find anything in the achives. Memory is Sandisk Extreme 32GB. Is there an obvious solution? Regards
  10. Today I want to share two shots of the impressive Erasmus-Bridge in Rotterdam/NL

  20. Hello, everyone! I have Sony A6000 and 'movie' button on my device doesn't work. I saw (sic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BRZmCwtzKz8) that firmware of A6300 allows customizing movie button and resettle it, for example, to C1 button. Unfortunately, I didn't find this option on A6000 (I have the latest firmware, version 3.2). Is anybody knows how to make a request for adding this tiny option to A6000 firmware or how can I record video in another way? I've checked PlayMemory app -- so, I didn't find this option too. Thank you!
  21. Hi All, I need some help with what wireless triggers will work between my A6000 and my Sony HVL-F43M. I admit, I'm almost completely clueless about all the technicalities that go on between triggers and flashes, despite trying to work it all out. I don't want to spend hundreds of pounds, so is there a budget friendly setup I can use? I assume as I have Sony camera and current flashgun that this ought to be straightforward, but I'm struggling to find an easy answer. Please could you help me out? I'm hoping to learn how to use my flashgun in the new year. Thanks in advance. Clare
