In an interview with Digitalcamera Sony officially said the 5 axis tech is propietary and not taken from others (Olympus)! Quite a surprise I would say. They also said they first implemented this on the A7 successor because they wanted to make it available for the mass first and not only for future high end FE cameras!

Additional mention with regard to the Sony "Profi" camera:

SR5: The A7II is not the “PRO” FE camera. The PRO FE camera is likely to be named A9 and will be announced and hit the stores the first half of 2015. And it has a new generation sensor!

. . . The weird thing is that SAR sources tell there is a second(!) new PRO model coming in January/February with:

– Advanced version of the A6000 hybrid AF system

– Weather sealed and mroe high quality body

– Sony will also NOT re-use the 36MP (A7r) or 24MP (A7 and A99) sensor.

(SR5) New PRO Full Frame A9 E-mount camera is placed above the A7 series.

One more thing about the new E-mount PRO FF camera coming in late January or early February. I have been told by trusted sources this camera will not be a A7/s/r replacement! It will be the first of a new line. The sources didn’t share the name of the camera but it’s highly likely this camera will be named “Sony A9“.

The camera will cost more than the current A7 models. I also have been told the Sony A7s will also see a first smaller price drop before the A9 announcement.

Specs of the A9 are not known yet but it has the fastest AF of any Sony mirrorless camera yet (more advanced than the one used by the A6000). Sony will also NOT re-use the 36MP (A7r) or 24MP (A7 and A99) sensor. Trusted sources told me the sensor is brand new."

From what I can tell the EVF on the A7II looks a bit bigger (it extends on top of the mount), I hope this means an even better EVF !

Careful with ordering cameras in Japan, they only include Japanese in the language selection, the price is tempting (especially when like me you live in europe) but if you are not fluent in Japanese, you won't be able to use it.
