Firmware update renders my A5000 totally dead

Has anyone else had this experience: In the middle of installing the firmware update my camera went completely dead. No sign of life whatever.

 

I called Sony and their solution was for me to send the unit to a repaid shop. Duh!

 

So, I would say to those who feel a firmware update is almost mandatory; BEWARE. You may end up losing the use of your camera completely.

Try doing the firmware update again from a different computer, worked for me.  If on Windows try a Mac or vice versa
