Sony Fix this Menu...!

The appeal of the A7RII was for shooting video and stills in the same camera. But Sony have made this extremely frustrating in real-life situations because the Super-35 option is unavailable without going into the menus and I use a mix of full-frame Zeiss lenses and Sony APS lenses.

 

I continually find myself caught left-footed after shooting stills and going back to video. You cannot save the Super-35 option to any memory or function or C1, C2, C3 button. 

 

Why Sony did this is not clear but it needs fixing.

 

It is such an oversight for me that I am thinking to buy the A7SII just to shoot video and that means carrying two cameras which defeats the purpose of an 'all-in one camera'.

I understand where you're coming from but if your doing a fair amount of video and stills, you should just get a second camera and dedicate each accordingly.

The Sony's are not my main video camera - they are B-roll and Behind the scenes. I already take a large video camera and have the Sony FS5 on order. So it made sense to get the A7R for stills and video. Now due to the menu I should have gone with the A7S.
