Terrible Red Noise after 1/8 Shutter

Hi, 

I recently brought an A7iii. Just started my first trip away to really use the camera and I'm extremely disappointed to find the camera seems to have a terrible issue.

When i try to shoot with a shutter speed slower than 1/8 the images are unusable. They get worse the longer the exposure is. After about half second shutter speed the image just appears black.

I have contacted Sony support but they are not very helpful at all and said they need to investigate it for 48 hours. I guess I will use it as a paper weight for this time!!

Do you get any proper exposures at any other settings?  From the looks of this photo, its a hardware problem.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, when shooting faster than 1/8 I have no issues. After about 1/4 I just get a fully black or red image. Sony support are still not being very helpful at all!

What aperture and ISO?

Happens on all apertures and 100iso

if raw what software are you using to view the files.

Jpg and Raw.

It’s not a software issue as even the preview on the camera shows it. 
When previewing it on PC or Mac it’s still the same so I’d say it’s definitely a hardware issue.
