AshDavis
My recently bought A7sii has worked fine up until recently when it stopped allowing me to control aperture. Bottom the screen now just reads f- I use a commlite with Canon range lenses. Since then, I have tested with another new commlite adaptor and still doesn't work. But did work when testing with metabones and native Sony lens This leads me to be very confused! Any ideas??

Username
An old Sigma lens did the same thing to my Canon SLR. That lens was from the Pre-Digital EOS era. In my case, removing the battery cleared it up. I hadda do that twice. Scary indeed :-( And acoarst there's the hard reset that often works, but not always. It's a generic fix that works on various brands when luck favors you. There's a few minor variations of how to do a hard reset, some on these forums and some "out there somewhere". All involve removing the battery and pushing buttons to drain the volatile memory. https://www.google.com/search?q=camera+hard+reset&rlz=1C1HLDY_enUS717US717&oq=camera+hard+reset&aqs=chrome..69i57.6577j0j1&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#q=digital+camera+hard+reset
