When I start recording in 120fps, the frame gets cropped which I understand is the cameras way of recording at such a high frame rate.

Is there a way to see the crop PRIOR TO RECORDING so I can frame the shot better? Otherwise I have to frame the shot only after recording starts.

Thanks!

Switch out of 4K into 1080. If you do a lot of slo mo when rolling 4K, set up a MEMORY BUTTON to switch on the fly. Between M1 & M2 you have up to 8 different favorite presets to rock with. Dats what I does

That's because you're on any still mode. In still mode you have no crop, but as soon as you hit the record button it changes to movie mode and therefore, if your settings are at HD 120p, it will crop the image. To preview the cropped image you need to set your camera in movie mode, XAVC-S HD 120p and then you'll have the cropped view even if you're not recording.

If you don't want to leave the still mode, what you can do is activate Clear Image Zoom and zoom it 2x. That's the equivalent of the crop that the camera makes for 120p.
