skimmel Posted May 29, 2017 Share Posted May 29, 2017 Hi everyone, I own an A7Rii that I have used extensively but have been limited in theater production that I shoot. The reason is that the theater uses LED lights which (especially when set to low output) cause banding when shooting the A7Rii with silent shutter (which I have to do in the theater setting). There are some very good discussion on the net that you can read about why this happens. Anyway, just got the A9 and tested it vs the A7Rii. I used the same lens and other settings and compared mechanical with electronic shutter using a small LED set at low output. And...there is a hug difference!
