Once lens resolution gets higher than sensor resolution, differences are invisible. At 100mp it's likely a different story with these two lenses, but not with today's sensors.

Hi PenGun, Not sure it's less color, but it sure is different color. Lens coatings make contrast and color renditions differ independent of resolution. The exposures are very different. Different white balance/temps maybe?   Post?    What's it look like to you?

 Zeiss lenses are famous for their colour rendition. This may be why, I sure don't know.

The 28-70 kit Lens was quite good

but not to compare now with the zeiss 1,8 Fe 55 and the A7 M2 !!! now

 

I wish I had that at that Location !!!

Im already thinkin of the 85 batis or the new 90 Macro lens from sony.

Noone135, I have been doing that personal debate on a regular basis. The 90 would replace my Macro and my portrait lenses, the 85 is slightly wider. I expect the 85 to be slightly sharper, not sure that really matters. I swing towards both lenses depending on the day.
