New to Flash - A6300 query

I have an A6300 camera and I'm new to the world of flash.  I purchased the HVL F43M, and was hoping to use this as a wireless off-camera flash.  But I cannot make the flash fire once it is removed from the camera.  And I am hearing and reading very contradictory advice from local suppliers and online bloggers.

 

So here is the simple question.  Can someone please confirm whether my A6300 built in flash can trigger the HVL F43M as an off-camera flash?  (I am hoping I can avoid the expensive alternative -a transmitter and receiver set up.)
