Pics with Zeiss Distagon FE 35mm f/1.4

Recommended Posts

OK !

eEnufff !!

Is anyone else truly sickandfuggintired

of pix with pointlessly minimal DOF ??

Well, Whatevvvverrr. Now perznilly, I'm

having me some cheap thrills stopping

down my ultrawides. It's certainly not a

new aesthetic ... oh kontrairey ... it's

photographically pre-pleistocene, but in

this day of the bokeh kult, I feel like a

Bolshevik tossing Molotov Bloody Marys

when I set an f:stop without any decimal

point in it.

Creamy, Crunchy, or Chewy, most of this

Bokeh BS is just wallpaper and greeting

card aesthetics ... a failure to manage

to visually arrange the elements in the

scene, so just obliterate everything but

the center of "interest" [sic].

Yeah I know, not every scene cooperates

with efforts to visually organize stuff.

Well, making it into a Hallmark greeting

card is one option .... and refusing to

abuse innocent pixels is the other. Try

the less abusive way. Not every cliche

is worth milking to death. If there's no

"there" there, then why capture nothing ?

Oh, am I obliged to mention that all this

is just my not so humble opinion, or is

that painfully obvious without mention :-O

I guess, the "old" C/Y Distagon 1,4/35mm must not hide either!
