Dark Banding on Sony A7R II

Does anybody got that strong banding on the new Sony.

Its only with silent shutter high iso 8000 and tungsten light.

Or is the sensor damaged?

In the manual, page 83:

 

 

• If you shoot images under instantaneous lightning or flickering lights, such as the

  flash light from other cameras or fluorescent lighting, a striping effect may occur on

  the image. 

it comes from your tungsten light.

Yes, it's due to how the silent shutter works, and can occur with most artificial light sources.

The bands can be eliminated by using a different shutter speed - or turning off silent shutter.

convert to black and white and you have a very Billy Wilder Film Noir look
