"Front-End Filter Solution" to get corner-to-corner sharpness A welcome topic launched to solve the problems with legacy lenses without changing the the thick filter in front of the sensor. Correct the problem by putting a front-end filter. See topic started here. Would like to share this because the more people become aware of this the better the solutions will be. see here: http://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1453834/0

Usually I'd use the A7r2 for landscape shots, but on this trip I figured I might do some street photography, and so I took the A9 instead. Founds some fun abstract shots shooting buildings straight up. With the no-blackout viewfinder, 20fps, and the focus point joystick, I find the A9 to be the best all around Sony camera.

Hello everyone! Being a canon user for the moment, and a landscape photographer, I have the 17-40mm has one of my main lenses. As I'm preparing the buy the Sony a7rII, I wanted to see how the Canon 17-40mm and the Sony 16-35mm compared at their widest. I also added the Voigtlander 15mm, because it's a great option for the sony (especially now that the E mount has been announced). You can find the full results on my blog, including the RAW files, here: http://www.adrienlefalher.com/blog I tested distortion, and I have to say, the voigtlander is a terrific lens in that regard (and pretty much any other metrics. This lens is amazing). Both the Canon and Sony showed quite heavy distortion though, but the Canon didn't look that much worse than the Sony, to be honest. All in all, both the Sony and the Canon lenses are ok, but there's definitely some progress that could be done. The Sony however is twice the price of the Canon, but definitely not twice the quality! Resolutions seems more or less the same for both, in real word usage. I hope this test will be useful to some of you!

Hi Everyone, I just received a lens that I had always been hoping for. The 16-35 mm Vario Tessar. I am attaching two HDR photographs of a Pagoda. The three photo exposures were taken handheld with the Sony a7 II. I will be taking more pictures with this lens. Have to use the lens with the level display in order to keep the back parallel to the walls of the buildings I photograph. Brian Matsumoto
