a7Riii shuts off while shooting video

New the a7Riii. I have two and was recently shooting video indoors. Both cameras pointing at same subject (interview). Both cameras stopped shooting around 20 min into the shoot. Battery full and memory card empty. Shot longer video previously with no problem. What am I missing? Is there a setting that I missed along the way?

Could be over heating

I wondered about over heating. I tested both today (indoors, 70 degrees). They both recorded 29.51 minutes and stopped. I looked at the previous recording (different indoor location) when I first noticed the problem. Yup, 29.51 minutes. Since they both do it, and I can duplicate the problem, I am thinking it is a setting. I scoured the manual but can't find anything that talks about a recording time limit, only heat, battery, memory that would limit recording time.

Discovered the problem. I didn't realize these cameras have a 30 min. recording limit. Does anyone know a work around?

Cameras have a 30 minute video limit... something to do with some dumb tax law.

 

You beat me by a minute... I’m not aware of a bypass. Maybe if that tax law gets wiped out then a quick firmware update will be able to remove that limit.
