captchrism
Have been having issues with my a5000 since I bought it. Most of my shots are in bright light outdoors, many times with fill flash. I was shooting on aperture priority like I always did with my Nikon but would have to use f18-22 to not overexpose with the flash on. Some were still blurry even at f8-11 with no flash. I then switched to S mode so i could eliminate hand shake. had some yesterday at f6.3 1/160 ISO auto(100) pattern metering zone focus. Shot at about 10ft away and i cannot find any part in focus. Other days it will take some perfect shots and some like this one. Never had problems with my old Nikon dslr. Trying to figure out if it is operator error of if I need to send it in. Here are a couple examples. I don't see any part of them that are in focus. https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BwAGBvo69A-nVjBKTmtzSzVadm8 https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BwAGBvo69A-nTlVaanh3c3RaMFk

tinplater
These problems are almost always operator error, usually camera movement. I would start by taking test shots using a tripod, center focus, and either shutter delay or fire by remote to remove any issue related to camera movement. Your images taken on a boat, even with a shutter speed of 1/160 may be faulty because the boat is not really a steady base.
