If you bought it new, the seller might have checked it before shipping, to avoid a return if the camera is faulty from the factory.
Or if it is a shop, they could have used it to test a lens or to show to another customer. It happens.
It is a common practice, actually the physical shop in which I bought mine invited me to check it before leaving, to ensure that it was not defective.
