nikon f adapter with electrical contacts

What happened to that fully electronic f-mount adapter (with AF) that was rumored to be 'close to production' back in June?   Just more vapor from Trusted Source Inc. ?

It looks like it had some pretty serious trouble focusing, at least for now.
