Yes

You can assign a button and you will have two zoom options or just leave the default button where it is so the one near the  viewfinder - very comfortable.

I am using my a7II with Contax Zeiss (got it just a week ago) and it works like a charm am not as fast as AF now but will get there. I like the focus peaking too but with 1.4 aperture is hard to nail it just by using it. 

 

That image is 1.4 focused by zooming in.

I tried that with a custom button and it works beautifully. Thank you. Finding the custom button settings in the menus was half the fun.
