I shot an interview on two cameras - Sony a7siii and Sony fs5 mkii. On the a7siii I shot at f2.8 using the 24-70 g master at 2000 iso. Footage for the most part looks great but there is still some noise in the shadows. My fs5 had the stock lens on at f4 and had virtually zero noise with the same iso.. WHY?!. I bought this camera because of its low light capabilities and I'm still seeing noise in a decently lit warehouse. What's going on here? I'll post a still of the shot.

Thanks!Pollo Inferno.tiff

Hi erfahn,

The A7Siii is indeed the low light king. Which gamma profile did you use? If slog3, one really needs to ETTR. I usually set zebras at 92 and always make sure I see zebras in the brightest areas on slog3 when I don’t have a grey card with great results. Then bring exposure down in post

I just shot photos with the Sony a7siii and Nikon d850 . The Sony had the fe 35mm f/1.4 gm and the Nikon the Sigma Art 40mm f/1.4 . Both shot at shutter of 200th of a sec f/1.4 and iso 2000 . The d850 with a 46 mp sensor had less noise by quite a good bit straight out of camera . Why is this . I almost want to send the camera back . I just got it and it’s not what I thought. And it’s super fragile like a toy . For the price I was expecting better quality. I’d read the a7siii was built better than previous similar Sony bodies. I’d hate to see the past stuff .
