Could you please elaborate on the "10 frames" a little bit?

It's a composite photo, which is the norm for night sky photography.

Could you please elaborate on the "10 frames" a little bit?

 

10 shots made one right after another and then placed as layers in Photoshop with descending opacity. This need to be done to reduce the noise mostly.
