Unexciting Specs [50/2.0] Fine Results.

By my own [online] observation, the popularity

of adapting legacy lenses has brought a great

new appreciation of the 50mm lens :-) Me likey !

 

I spoze it's cuz there's prolly more old 50s on the

hoof than all others combined. My personal herd

has always had several, so I was trying to select

the best general purpose 50 of the bunch.

 

Actually, it was the Nikkor 50/1.8 pancake, for a

number of reasons, but this shot is from the 2nd

place finisher, the 50/2.0, taken during "The Full

Open Aperture Backlighting Competition" :

Maybe the shot would benefit from a bit more DOF,

but given the nature of the test, wide aperture with

back lighting, DOF is scarce. I'm very pleased with

the placement of the focused plane, thin as it is.
