Cant Transfer Photos/Videos from Sony Alpha A6000 to PC

So, I recently lost my camera charger cord, and i have been using one of those similar cords, they charge the camera, but dont let me transfer photos.

But recently I found the cord that came with the Sony A6000! I was excited! I could post youtube videos and food photography to my blog! Until when i tried it didnt work.... Just like the others playmemories didnt notice it.. proof it was plugged in properly is because in the documents  it showed the camera was plugged in, but playmemories didnt notice it or something, then my camera said something like "check the plugged in device" or something along the lines of that... Please help! I need to post youtube videos because its so fun but now i cant! Anything i can buy to fix it? a new cord? please help!!!

Take your SD card out of the camera and read it with a simple card reader...(e.g. Lexar)

Use the MENU button to check the USB connection setting on the camera. I don't have my camera with me at the moment but I think the right setting should be USB MASS STORAGE. If it's set for something else then change it.
