Here are my first Testshots with the Tamron 150-600, shot with a monopod today :-) About the lens: I used it with a cheap chinese adapter for Nikon Mount with aperture ring, all metal construction which holds the lens very good, there is maybe 5 mm play but not an issue, the lens is so big and heavy that you will hold the lens all the time anyway. Shooting with this big and heavy lens definitely needs a monopod or tripod and i also recommend to take a bag with you that this lens fits in with the camera on. Using it manual worked very good, the focus ring is precise and with the magnifier and focus peaking you can be shure to have sharp results. The 5 axis IBIS worked great with this huge lense attached. Best sharpness is from 150-400mm but also 400-600 is very usefull, just needs some tweaks in LR, contrast, blacklevel. It was a real joy using this lens, if you have never used this kind of lens with such a huge range, i can really recommend trying it out

This was shot from underneath a bridge with 600mm :-) the sharpness and quality is outstanding

Day 2 with my big boy the Tamron 150-600 + Sony A7II, been on a fototour today with a friend who took 2 pictures of me while shooting with his Tamron 150-600 and a Nikon d750 :-)

We had some great fun, allthough the weather wasnt perfect, again the tamron deliverd great image quality

      AI sez: The CHIPFANCIER CFexpress Type A 4.0 memory card offers 1700MB/s read speeds and is VPG400 certified, making it suitable for 8K video and high-speed shooting. However, some users have reported limitations in frame rates with this card.  Don't know if that applies, but it sounds similar. Any chance on using/getting a different card? The A7 IV has a ridiculous buffer, it shouldn't slow down at all with a good card.

      ISO 320 is the A7R5's second base ISO setting. You will find at ISO 320 you will get better results than even ISO 200. I normally take a set of shots at 1600, 3200 and 6400 ISO. I am taking 60 light frames and 10 dark frames. I don't do any adjustments to the files before stacking. I really need to get organised and do some bias frames now. Here is pretty much my first successful Milky Way shot from a few months ago. I was combatting a bit of ambient light and quite a lot of cloud but I'm pretty happy with this. It was shot using my Sigma 16-28 f2.8 which is better at astro than I had anticipated, at ISO 1600.
