Moiré in viewfinder and monitor

When my alpha 7rII is in still photography mode, I see severe Moiré patterns in both the viewfinder and monitor.  If I take a photograph, these do not appear in it.  When the camera is in video mode, I don't see Moiré patterns in the viewfinder or monitor.  Is anyone else having this problem?  Is there a remedy?  The patterns are benign but distracting.

I think that's something that you have to deal with in all EVFs.

Thanks.  I didn't know that.  I don't see it on my Sony FS700.

Are you sure it's not the zebra stripes showing blown-out highlights? (That can be turned off.)

I sometimes see moiré in my VF, but, surprisingly, only when I soom in 5x. When I zoom in 12x, it goes away. Anyway, I know it does not affect the picture, so I don't let it bother me.

This is actually a good thing for some people. Specifically manual focus shooters. It makes it super easy and fast and reliable to manually focus, better even than focus peaking.

I agree, it works like focus peaking but is much more precise/sensitive but also depends on the structure of the subject you are focussing on.
