affpic
Hi! Just bought myself A7R II, it was working fine the other night, but today it just won't focus. I half press the shutter, it makes that focusing sound but actually won't focus on anything, just blurry image. Tested with 90mm macro and 28-70 kit lens. Any ideas? EDIT: Somehow got it working. ? Advertisement Posted December 1, 2019 Posted December 1, 2019 Hi affpic, Take a look here A7R II AF won't focus. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
DanArt
maybe you was holding down the focus hold ( turns off the focus ) button. Some lens have extra buttons to halt focus while most SONY camera have one big button to stop AF. It is also an option in the menus

DanArt
On the camera itself 12 hours ago, Pieter said: The 28-70 doesn't have that button... the camera itself has that button on the back. I think there are like three to four different ways to shut off the auto focus or switch between AF/MF There is one big button on the back, an AF/MF switch nearby. The focusing method can shift between how you use the AF to even turning it off. Also in the menu their might be the same options mentioned. I get that problem only if it is not screwed in correctly
