Hi guys. New Sony A7iii user! Amazing camera. Came from Canon, have not looked back. Still using my canon lenses though :( . I know.  Give me time.

Question. I mostly shoot JPEG (unless I'm doing something I know I want to post-process stuff).  The JPEGS are a little flat straight out in standard style.

Can someone explain difference between the picture profiles and creative styles? or maybe a good youtube video? I have read a few webpages and still am confused about what applies to what? Apparently Creative Style is for stills, and PP is for videos, but when i change the PP, it translates over to my stills.

Thanks!

So here's the deal,

Yes, Creative Styles are for stills (RAW and JPEG) and Picture Profiles (PP) apply to video and stills shot on JPEG. That means if you shoot JPEG with the PP settings turned on, you will get a JPEG photo with the PP applied. This does not happen when shooting RAW. Only Creative Style works with RAW shooting.

Hope this helps!
