How to transfer pictures with usb or wifi while shooting

Recommended Posts

I like to  transfer pictures with  usb or wifi while shooting. So for any picture I take or series of pictures in a timelapse or with the snapcable, I like it to be downloaded to my laptop immediatley. I want that for astrophotography use.

When I connect usb cable and setup PC remote in Sony menu, I see  SonyA6300 in windows explorer but no files. And I cannot start shooting.

I also like this to work when using the Sony timelapse app.

When I installed trial version of Capture One software , I could control camera and download on picture at a time. So technicly it is possible. But Capture One is to expensive for non prof.

You should look for "tethering software". It's certainly possible to tether your camera using USB, but the cable can be tedious.

You can also have your camera send images shot via Wifi, and that gets rid of the cable. It can be done using FTP. Just not sure if your A6300 has this functionality built in.
