This lens seems quite good given the zoom range, are you happy with it in terms of handling, af and IQ?

I'm considering it to pair with my a7s and FE55 and nikkor ais 105/2.5, to use for travel/family pics when I cannot spend too much time in changing lenses.

The FE24240 is an ideal travel lens (when the family gets tired of you constantly stopping to change lens). It's not better than 70200 or 2470 just half the combined weight and more convenient.

I like it. Better as expected. Not razor sharp but very, very good as a travel lens. At 24mm it's soft in the corners.

I would buy the lens again!

 

For the handling. I do not think the lens is very heavy, it’s heavier as most lenses but I expected that and have no problem with it. I use a Neoprene Comfort Joint Neckstrap and it helps to reduce the weight and is great for my neck. IMO the zooming is not too stiff and the focus ring is O.K. too.

Ok thanks. I just bought Lightroom and updated the software to latest but mine didn't come with a lens profile for the Sony FE 24240. I assume I have to download is separately but couldn't find any link on Adobe's website, any idea where I can download this profile from?

They already have the profile for this lens for Lightroom.
