Harrison
So I've had my A7s since October of 2015. I was shooting in an extremely humid climate about a month ago (June 2016) and the camera's off/on switch quit working. Now, no matter what position it is in, the camera will remain on. As you all know, battery life isn't great with these cameras so this is kind of a problem. I've tried getting around it by setting the auto off/power saving settings to turn the camera off after 10 seconds, but this has just become an inconvenience, seeing as how now a slight bump of my camera bag could turn on my camera. I also own an A7ii and I've had that for close to 2 years now without any variation of this issue. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated! Advertisement Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 Hi Harrison, Take a look here A7s won't turn off. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
lenoindex
Sounds like an easy one if you are willing to send it in for fix. Or you could keep on working with 10 sec auto shut and release the battery when you are not going to use it anytime soon.
draken
Hi Harrison, I have the same problem with A9 - i also shot in humid conditions. What did you do with your A7? Thx. Martin
Wally The Confused
Yes, as others , above, have said, either put the camera in for repair, or, cheaply, charge the camera battery, or several batteries, and keep them handy. Then, when you want to use the A 7, insert a battery, take pics, then remove the battery. Good Luck
