WHY A-MOUNT WILL GO ON

It seems that Sony will continue to produce a-mount gears and lenses.

I was dreaming that they keep only e-mount, like Canon does with

EF and EF-S lenses. As a NEX, a5100 & a6000 APSC user, it would

be easier to use FF lenses without a costly adapter.

It's not that the lenses will stop working. They can be set to manual focus and live on for many many years.

 

It's the camera bodies that have the real life cycle. If Sony stops producing new and more advanced A mount bodies, the need for A mount lenses will just dry up.

 

Sony can continue to produce A mount lenses, but if there are no bodies to use them natively, what is the point?
