Does Zeiss 24-70mm F2.8 ZA work on film A-mount camera?

I am considering getting Zeiss 24-70mm F2.8 ZA SSM or SSM II for film camera - Dynax 5 or 7.

All my older A-mount lenses worked with Dynax 5, but this Zeiss SSM II is the most modern and I have doubts.

Anyone got experience with last A-mount lenses / SSM II on film cameras?
