A7RII will not work for bird photography (for me) unfortunately

Recommended Posts

Sorry if someone commented on this and i missed it, But, If you turn on the sensor cropping feature will it correct the EVF freeze?   I'm guessing when dealing with such a high evf pixel count in addition to a full frame sensor, some EVF freeze it to be expected.

I experience it sometimes in my a6000 in full burst mode.

I guess one thing that might help is keeping the other eye on the subject.

I use my Minolta 500mm f8 AF Reflex with af using an LAEA4 adapter on my A7. it is also a newer Sony version of this lense. I think it is identical. Both are discontinued but you can find nice copies used. I got mine nearly unused for about 200€ or 220$ ( i paid 1900 NOK). it wil autofocus using only 1 focuspoint but it works ok, but not obviously not very quick for flight photos. It is compact and light and is perfect for carrying on trips around the lake. I even get sharp images handheld sometimes but usually uses tripod or monopod. Since you have A7RII WITH 42 mpx youprobably can manage without the extra 1,4x and rather crop and still have a high resolution image.
