A7Sii w/ SmallHD 501

Hi chaps,

 

Quick question - I'm hooking an A7Sii to a SmallHD 501, however once I connect them up, and switch on the 501, the A7Sii screen turns off, and on the 501 I get a squeezed/smaller viewing screen, as apposed to the output image filling the full 1920x1080p on the 501 .. How do I firstly, have both screens visible at the same time, and secondly, have the output image fill the fill 1920x1080p on the 501?

Have the same camera and the rear screen DOES shut off when the 501 turns on. No way l've discovered to operate both simultaneously.

 

In the SmallHD menus there's a setting to set various aspect ratios that should fill out the screen. Mine cuts off slightly the top and bot of screen.

 

It's so much more accurate pulling focus than trying to use the rear screen. I have both the DP4 & DP6 and use the 4 on my R&G rig and tempted to get the 501 for its abundance of functions but the Atomos will capture vid files. Don't like the larger sizes of the Atomos for what & how I shoot but they do offer more accoutrements for a few hundred more dollars than the 501.
