a6000 image management

I have had my a6000 for a while now and been generally happy with the pictures it produces, but up until now have just copied pictures off it to a real computer. But, by now my sim card has gotten cluttered and it was time to do some cleaning up and have run into several frustrations:

1: The camera generates a new virtual folder for each day I take pictures. I absolutely HATE this - is there a setting whereby the camera will just put all pictures in the same place?

2. In order to delete pictures, I have only been able to delete them individually, or multiple pics taken on he same day but see no function just to delete them all.

3. When connecting the camera to a computer via a USB cable I don't get a true USB mass storage view of what's on the SD card. All those irritating day folders appear even though they don't really exist on the SD card and those virtual folders are "read only", thus I can't do anything with this mess other than copy it. While I can remove the card from the camera, find a USB adapter for it, plug it into the computer, do what needs to be done, then put the card in the camera I have to wonder why is there even a usb port on the camera if you can't do anything with it???

You can change the folder situation 

via the menu. A new folder by date 

each day is NOT the factory default.   

   

This will also speed up your delete 

operations.     

   

Forget the USB. Remove the card 

and use it directly in the PC. This 

avoids any weird procedures about 

when to plug in the USB vs when to 

power up the camera. IIRC power 

up the camera AFTER connecting, 

BUT thaz strictly IIRC !

Get a SD card reader, import all photos to your PC, format the card in your camera afterwards. Very simple.
