An top quality glass with a speed of f/0.95 would be especially optical designed for digital use larger, because of more glass in it! On the other hand is the question, is it worth to produce a minor number of such expensive glasses, and who would buy them!

I think the days of 'fast' lenses are numbered.  They were never that good optically - esp wide open and the ability to change ISO and image stabilization and highly corrected CA of new lenses make them obsolete.

I have one of the highest regarded Zeiss Contax 1.2 85mm lens and I can't think of a reason I would select the 1.2 over the new Otus 85mm 1.4.

Obsolete yes ... for their original intended purposes.

Obsolete like '57 Chevy. IOW no longer appropriate

as your daily driver, but now re-purposed for certain

special qualities that shine in certain situations.
