A7s - stills mode and focus points

Recommended Posts

Hi. I just borrowed Sony A7s and I cant find out how can I switch it into stills mode (my friend use the camera for video).

I tried to change the mode to M, A, or S, but the photo functions (like image size) are still greyed out in menu.

As far as I know, Image size is greyed if you select RAW in Quality, the third option in that Menu page. RAW files are always 42 MP, Image Size may be selected just for JPEG. If you choose RAW+JPEG, you can control Image size, but that´s just for the JPEG version, as the RAW remains with full resolution. That is logical, since it is supposed that you will work the RAW file later in a software, when you will be free to choose whatever output you want.

Now, which other photo functions are greyed? Could you list all the functions that are so?
