Using Zeiss Loxia 35 on Sony A7rii

I uses this lens with  the A7rii for the first time yesterday-in aperture priority. I used the aperture ring to control the aperture (obviously). 

 

My question is- what happens if i try to use shutter priority. I assume the aperture is still constrained by the aperture ring. So how does this mode work?

 

Same question for using the camera in manual exposure mode.

Why don't you just try it      and then let us all know how it went

Good idea. I just tried it and it seems to work as if it's in manual mode. The aperture stays the same and the histogram shifts as you change the speed. In order to get the histogram back to its starting point the iso must be changed to get back to the original exposure.

If you use Auto ISO it will change that automatically for you, as far/best as it can ... and I think if you have a TTL flash unit it might even adjust flash power automatically, again as far/best as it can.
