I've started having issues with my A1 and it's at a point where the camera is basically unusable.

The focus mode dial does not seem to be operating correctly.

If I set the dial to AF-S, the camera displays MF

If I set it to AF-C, the camera displays DMF

DMF == DMF

MF = AF-C

I have AF w/ shutter disabled and generally use the AF-ON button for BBF.
If I set the dial to MF, the AF-ON button will go to AF-C and that seems to work, but the only way I can reliably get to MF is to use a lens with a manual switch.

Also, my timer function doesn't work. If I set a 2 second timer and hit the shutter I'll see one red flash, but it doesn't continue through to take the picture.
Same with a 10 second timer.

I've updated to firmware 2.02 (this problem still existed back on 1.31) and I've reset the camera settings several times and gone through the menu options.

Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong? Sony wants an insane amount of money just to look at it.

Thanks,

Luke.
