a7r iii EV dial malfunctioning

Hi all-

Has anyone had their EV dial go on the fritz? I've got an a7r iii and it's been a gem for 5 years, but last week the EV dial started malfunctioning. The adjustments are not responding - at the 0 position the camera reports +0.3EV, anything higher than that actually works (i.e. +1.0EV reports +1.0EV, +1.3EV -> +1.3EV, etc.) Anything less than that is way out of whack, all the way down to -3.0EV on the dial with report +0.7EV on the camera. Can't change from the quick menu as it says (essentially) "the dial needs to be set at 0 for this to work," but naturally I can't get the camera to go to 0.

I called Sony support, and we tried a settings reset and initializing the camera, but no dice. Repair looks to be around $600, which is a big chunka change. Wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if they found a fix?

It's normally referred to as the exposure compensation dial (EC, not EV).

It does beyond 0 - could you get it to zero by going one step past zero? Oh, I see you tried that. That's truly weird.

I have right now the exact same problem! The problem happend out of nothing. Have you ever found a solution?
