Can I use a Nissin 3200GT Flash on Sony A380

Recommended Posts

Can anyone tell me if it's safe to use a Nissin 3200GT flash on my Sony a380?

I would be plugging the power cord into a Vello Hot Shoe adapter.

I read this online:

This type of flash is really designed for manual (mechanical) cameras, and has a trigger voltage of just over 100v, so it shouldn't be used with many modern electronic, AF or digital cameras, which typically expect a voltage of around 6v to 24v (ISO standard). Some digital cameras specify a maximum of 250v or even more, in which case this one will be fine.

So I'm not sure whether to try it or not.

Do not try it.

Many peeps may have successes with it.

If one of those adapters ever does fail, or

if a user forgets to deploy it, all the magic

smoke will exit the camera.

You have confused your power cord with

your synch cord, as best I try to decipher

your post. This is a sorta karmic hint that

if ever one of those tragedies is shopping

for a victim, it will choose YOU !
