Focus settings for dogs in action

I am a dog photographer that is new to Sony cameras and I shoot with Sony A7r iii. I have been struggling to consistently nail focus on the dogs face when shooting action shots. The camera seems to always want to focus on the dogs chest rather than the face. I'm looking to see if anyone has had this issue and has found a solution. I use animal eye AF, which works great when the dogs are not moving too quick and Lock on AF EFS when shooting action shots. Any Advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
