A6500 video glitch

Recommended Posts

Hi guys! I'm having this glitch issue with my A6500. I never know when it will happen. For example the last time it happen was last year and today I had this issue again.

Some informations:
This glitch happens with 4k and 1080.
I'm using SanDisk card Extreme Pro 170mb/s
Happens multiple times during the clip.
I used almost everyday since the last time it happened and only today that the issue came back.
I'm using a modified version of PP1. I didn't tryied to switch Picture Profile.
Last version of Firmware.

What could be?

It's an error in the data stream. We need to find out where the failure occurred. In the camera itself or when writing to the SD drive.

Please upload this video to the cloud storage.

I have the same problem with my A7III:

I recently bought a new SDXCii v90 card with 300mb of recording time and the problem shown in the video still happens. I've done a lot of research and I can't find any reference to the problem anywhere. One detail is that if I record with a proxy, the 4k video gives the error, but the proxy does not. So it's not a capture error, it seems to be a recording error. What can this be?

Hi! It's just png. There's nothing I can do about it. I need a native mp4 from the camera containing all the metadata.

Hi Makeev, any idea? I don't find any solution yet :(

I tried all the editing programs and converters to try to cure already broken files. I tried the native Sony Catalyst Browse software. It was unsuccessful.

I still can't say for sure if it's the camera or the flash drive.

Sorry guys! I never received any notification about this topic in my email. Thanks to Muhammad who sent me a direct message and so I was notified by email.

I'm sad to know that I couldn't help people who had the same problem as me.

But I managed to solve the problem!

Actually the problem wasn't my camera and it was actually my external HD.

I was transferring the files directly to my external HD and not to my computer.
I started to transfer the files directly to the computer instead of the external HD and problem solved.

In your case it could be the card reader, the external HD or even the internal HD.

It is cheaper to replace the external HDD. It's a good thing that happened that way.

    • I'd opt for a small zoom, but I must admit that there seems to be a dearth of lenses in the e-mount in the 24-50mm range -- for some reason.  I have a small 24-70mm, but that's an a-mount Tamron.  Maybe you can find something by looking at lenses slightly longer.  I have a heavy, but small 24-100mm a-mount, and Tokina made a 24-200mm a-mount.  Maybe there are similar lenses in the e-mount.  Kill three birds with one stone.
    • I recently got an a7cii and to pair with the compact body, I thought of getting 2 of the trio compact lenses, 24mm F2.8 and 40mm F4.0. (I already have a 70-200mm) However I stumbled upon the newly released 24-50mm F2.8 G. I'm not sure which to get - I like the small factor of the prime lenses ON the body because it's discreet and helps me blend in as an average tourist / doesn't make it obvious when doing street. But if I add the dimensions of the 2 primes together, it takes up more space in the bag than the zoom lens. BUT THEN, the weight of the 2 prime lenses is 110g lesser than the zoom lens. The zoom lens has the added benefit of being more versatile.   So now I'm stumped. Each has their pros and cons and I can't decide which to get. I'd like to hear the views of you guys who are more experts at this.   Edit: I'm a bit concerned about weight because the last time I went overseas my shoulders were aching from carrying too much. Which is why I was looking for small compact primes in the first place.
    • Hi, I have got a6300 which shutter stopped working. I managed to change shutter but unfortunatelly broke shutter motor tape but I fixed that. After repair the shutter is working but not in a proper way, watch with sound. I bought the second shutter and tried to test it before dissaembling again and it doesn't react to magnet but it works fine when I apply 3V. Are there different type of shutter for a6000 - a6400? Back to the question what is wrong with my shutter after first repair? I don't want to put next shutter unfoundedly. Do your sony cameras perform such a self-check after start up?  IMG_5579 (1).webm
