An A6000 on visit in New York City

Bought an A6000 to bring along on city trips to avoid lugging around my A77s or A850.

Been to quite a few places and I´m pretty happy with that camera.

Will try to post a few samples of the memories I brought back to give an idea what can (or can´t) be done with that excellent camera.

Here a few from NYC, taken last summer.

Thanks a lot!

I had to check, and all of them are shot with the 16-70 Z except for the second last one, which has been shot with the 35 1.8 E lens (at f/2.8 & 1.000 ISO as it is in fact a twilight picture).

Quite happy with the last one which shows little noise at ISO 1.600 (and f/4). Honestly surprised by that little camera.

Usually travelling with the 10-18, 16-70Z & the 35 1.8 in my luggage.

Well you shouldn't be.  It's a solid 24 megapixel Sony sensor (and Sony gives the other companies crap and saves the best for themselves). I hate the ergonomics of the a6000/6300 (not enough buttons, dials in stupid places, no touchscreen, all of the above making great AF difficult to manage...) but their raw power is undeniable.  If they ever take the components of the a6000 and put them in an A7ii-style body... with a touchscreen... you'd have a world-beater.

Thanks, I would agree that ergonomics isn't the strong side of the camera. It sometimes remembers me more of a blown up RX100 (p&s...) then of a shrunk SLR, handling wise. The quality however is another story.

The camera is on holiday in Japan right now, hope to post a few impressions from that amazing country in a few ;-)
