Sony Camera Apps not available in your country

How do you install apps on your camera if you live in a country that apparently is not on Sony's good list?

 

I created an account on the Sony PlayMemories Camera Apps site but it doesn't even allow me to log in because apparently "the service is not distributed in my country", whatever that means (see screenshot). When trying to install an app on my camera, the camera complains with the same message.

 

So of course I created another (fake) account in which I set my country to USA (it isn't really). This way I was at least able to install the free apps. But the PlayMemories site doesn't allow me to connect my PayPal account or my credit card with this fake account, because the country doesn't match. So while I would gladly pay Sony the 4.99 or 9.99 or whatever (yeah, right) I have no way of doing so.

 

Any ideas?
