Anyone else having problems with lenses after firmware update on A6500?

My Sigma's are working well but my Zeiss 12mm F2.8 Touit has stopped responding and focusing.... even manually :(

Any ideas team? Gonna call Zeiss tomorrow...

Just checked mine, 12mm Zeiss Touit does not focus. The Zeiss Batis 85mm works ok.

I contacted Zeiss, I have to send mine in for repair…

I think I do too. I tried it on another body and it still didn't work... I have Version 2 as well so its definitely not a firmware problem...

Did they give you any other information? Is yours under warranty? Do we think it is related to the camera firmware upgrade or just coincidnce?

Mine is under warranty... I told them the problem and they told me to return it. I guess I will know more once they have had a chance to run some diagnostics on it.

Yeah! I wonder if this is just coincidence or having to do with the firmware update? I tried it on different bodies to no avail as it is completely locked up.

  • 2 weeks later...

My lens arrived at Zeiss Service center on 21st February, it just arrived back today (1st March).

They did not say what they had fixed but the cover letter did indicate that it would have cost $104 were it not still under warranty. The lens is now working perfectly on my A6500.
